CORVALLIS, Ore. – Chayse Gomez equaled her best-career score to lead the Oregon State women's golf team in the second round of the Stanford Intercollegiate on Saturday.

The Beavers knocked five strokes off their opening round, posting a 1-under 283, that has them in a tie for sixth place with a 3-over 288-283--571 at the par-71, 6,269-yard Stanford Golf Course.

Oregon State started on the 10th hole on Saturday and had a combined five birdies through the first nine holes. The Beavers caught fire on the second nine, dropping in 11 birdies to give them momentum heading into the final 18 holes.

Host Stanford (21-under 547) looks to have the team trophy locked up after building a 20-stroke lead over second-place Oregon (1-under 567). San Jose State is in third place with an even-par 568, while Arizona State and UCLA are tied for fourth with a 2-over 570. USC is tied with Oregon State for sixth place with a 3-over 571.

The final round of the three-day, 54-hole tournament begins at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday with a shotgun start. Live scoring is available at golfstat.com.

Gomez had five birdies, 10 pars and three bogeys in the second round for a 2-under 69 that moved her 22 spots up the leaderboard. She shot a 3-under 69 in the first round at the par-72 Wildcat Invitational in Tucson last spring. The Yorba Linda, Calif., native now has five sub-par rounds in her two-plus years at Oregon State.

Kelsey Webster and Ellie Slama lead the Beavers on the individual leaderboard, sitting in a tie for 15th place with a 1-under 141. Webster has scores of 71-70, while Slama is reversed of that with 70-71. They both have a scoring average of 2.90 on the par-3's.

Redshirt freshman Danique Stokmans has been steady through the first two days, posting a 1-over 72 and 2-over 73 that has her in a tie for 32nd place with a 3-over 145.

Rose Zhang of Stanford has dominated her home course with a pair of 6-under 65's that has given her a five-stroke lead over Sara Krouskova of Texas for the individual crown.
