Tough Stretch Continues for No. 21 Beavers at No. 3 Utah

• Oregon State (8-3) travels to take on No. 3 Utah (7-0) in a Pac-12 Conference contest Saturday at the Jon M. Huntsman Center in Salt Lake City. The meet is slated to begin at noon PST.
• The Beavers rose one spot to No. 21 in this week's rankings according to RoadToNationals.com.
• OSU enters the week with a 8-3 overall record and is 3-0 in Pac-12 competition.
• Oregon State is in the midst of five straight meets against teams ranked in the top 13 in the nation.

AGAINST THE UTES
• The Beavers trail the series with the Utes, 10-72-1.
• Oregon State has lost the last six meetings between the teams dating back to 2017 including a dual loss in Corvallis and again at Pac-12 Championships last season.
SUPER SENIORS
• OSU's eight seniors consisting of Halli Briscoe, Lacy Dagen, Destinee Davis, Sabrina Gill, Jaime Law, Maela Lazaro, Isis Lowery and Alyssa Minyard has combined to hit 39 out of 41 routines thus far in 2020.
• Isis Lowery is tied for the team-lead with 18 routines performed. Dagen (12-12), Davis (7-7), Briscoe (6-6) and Minyard (6-6) have each hit all of their routines.
DAGEN DUO
• Sisters Lacy Dagen and Madi Dagen have been perfect so far in 2020 combining to hit all 30 routines they've performed.
• Lacy earned her second straight beam title against Stanford posting a career-best 9.975 to lead the team to a season-best 49.375 on the event.
• Madi secured her first event title of the season against Stanford scoring a career-high 9.90 on the vault completing the first Yurchenko 1 1/2 of her career.
IT TAKES A VILLAGE
• There are 20 gymnasts on the 2020 Oregon State gymnastics team and the vast majority have earned spots in the competitive lineup on a regular basis. The Beavers have used 15 gymnasts to complete their 24 routines in four out of six meets with the exception coming at Sacramento State, when they only used 14.
• Two gymnasts - Lena Greene and Jane Poniewaz - suffered season-ending injuries prior to the season starting.
EVENT TITLES
• Just six meets into the season, the Beavers have already captured 15 event titles.
• Last weekend, Maela Lazaro tied her career-high with a 9.925 on the balance beam to win the event title and Isis Lowery and Kaitlyn Yanish tied for top honors on the floor exercise with matching scores of 9.925.
• Against Stanford, three different OSU gymnasts secured event titles. Madi Dagen captured her first title of the season with a career-high 9.90 on the vault, Lacy Dagen nabbed the beam title with a career-best 9.975 and Isis Lowery won the floor title with a personal-mark of 9.975 as well.
• OSU gymnasts snagged a couple more titles at Arizona with Lacy Dagen and Isis Lowery scoring 9.850 to tie for top honors on the beam while Kaitlyn Yanish got her team-best fourth event title scoring 9.925 on the floor.
• Maela Lazaro earned her first event title of the season tying her career-best with a 9.925 on the beam at Sacramento State. Kaitlyn Yanish secured her second straight floor title with a 9.90 on the event as well.
• OSU gymnasts swept the competition in the Beavs' home opener against Seattle Pacific and Centenary. Kaitlyn Yanish scored 9.850 on the vault, Halli Briscoe went for a 9.850 on the bars, and Isis Lowery secured the beam title with a 9.875. Yanish and Lowery each tallied scores of 9.925 to tie for top honors on the floor exercise.
• Sabrina Gill swiped the uneven bars title at the season-opening Critique Classic with a 9.80.
LAST WEEK AGAINST LSU & ARIZONA STATE
• Oregon State came up just short in a rally Saturday settling for a second-place finish to LSU, 196.800-196.700, but well ahead of Arizona State (195.600).
• As a team, the Beavers tied their season-best on the beam (49.375) and reached the 49-point mark (49.025) on the bars for the second time in 2020.
• OSU gymnasts also secured a pair of event titles - Maela Lazaro tied her career-high with a 9.925 on the beam to win the title, while Isis Lowery and Kaitlyn Yanish each notched scores of 9.925 on the floor to tie for top honors.
QUICK STICKS
• All four of OSU's lineups are ranked among the top 35 in the nation. The balance beam lineup is the highest ranked for the Beavers tied at No. 7 (49.138 season average). Floor is 15th (49.133), uneven bars is No. 31 (48.729), and vault is No. 32 (48.779).
• Oregon State has 'hit' 132 out of 144 (91.7%) routines in 2020 ... in comparison, the Beavers 'hit' 313 out of 336 (93.2%) routines last season.
• Through six meets, OSU's routine production breakdown looks like this: Seniors have performed 62 of 144 routines in 2020 (43.1%), juniors have produced 31 of 144 (21.5%), sophomores 29 of 144 (20.1%) and freshmen 22 of 144 (15.3%).
• Oregon State opened the season on the road for the fourth straight year
• Eleven of OSU's 15 regular season opponents on the 2020 schedule are currently ranked in the top 36, including six in the top 12.
• OSU hosts six regular season home meets in 2020 for the first time since 1981. The Beavers will be home Jan. 11 (vs. Seattle Pacific & Centenary), Feb.2 (vs. Stanford), Feb. 8 (vs. LSU & Arizona State), Feb. 29 (vs. UCLA), March 6 (vs. Washington) and March 14 (vs. Illinois).
• The gymnastics team posted a 3.4667 grade point average during the fall term ... the squad carries a cumulative GPA of 3.3664.
• Sixteen out of 20 OSU gymnasts posted GPAs of 3.0 or better during fall term and 13 were 3.5 or better including two 4.0s.
THE ROSTER
Here are some quick hitters about the 2020 Oregon State gymnastics roster:

• Lena Greene, who opted to use a fifth-year of eligibility prior to the season and is now a redshirt junior in 2020, and freshman Jane Poniewaz will both miss the season due to injury.
• Fifteen of the 20 gymnasts on the 2020 team competed in at least one meet for the Beavers last season. Jaime Law and Alex McClung are all seeking their first competition routines at OSU, in addition to the three freshmen.

In November, four gymnasts made official commitments to join the Oregon State gymnastics program for the 2020-21 academic year. Sydney Gonzales (Newport Beach, Calif.), Kaitlyn Hoiland (Kent, Wash.), Anna Yeates (Roseville, Calif.) and Ariana Young (San Mateo, Calif.) are scheduled to enroll at Oregon State this coming summer ... last month, the Beavers received a fifth commitment from Julia Melchert (Puyallup, Wash.) to also join the program in the fall and this week Grace Johnson (Snoqualmie, Wash.) made her commitment to become a Beaver next fall as well ... in addition, 2018 signee Jade Carey (Phoenix, Ariz.), who has deferred her enrollment to train for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics still plans to join the Beavers in time for the 2021 season.
