Beavers Open Indoor Season at UW Preview

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Oregon State's 2020 track & field season gets underway Saturday, Jan. 18 as a contingent of Beavers travel to Seattle, Wash. to compete in the UW Indoor Preview. The competition is hosted by the University of Washington and will be held at the Dempsey Indoor Center. Â

"It's a lot deeper of a meet that we've faced than in year's past," head coach Louie Quintana said. "There are a lot of women who haven't competed during the indoor season so we just want to go there and be able to lay it on the line and have a good, honest assessment of where we're at."
Roster OutlookÂ
Oregon State showcases another balanced roster for its 2019-20 campaign with 20 true freshman joining the team with 30  athletes returning to the fold.
Jumps: Talented long jumper and redshirt senior Ann Wingeleth is back after recieving All-American honors last May at the NCAA Championships. Freshman Maddie McHone, Emma Nelson and Taylor Ozimek will make their debut alongside Wingeleth in the High Jump event at 10 a.m. PT.Â
Throws: Under coach David Dumble, Oregon State has developed a talented throws group with senior Lindsay McShane, Keely McLaughlin and Sydney Guthrie-Baker at the helm for the 2019-20 season.Â
Sprints: Sophomore Lauren Miller looks to improve on her No. 10-mark in the 200m on Saturday (25.02) - racing alongside Tarisa Olinski, Maddie McHone and Claire Corbitt. Olinski returns for her senior campaign after setting PR's in the 200 and 400m last season.Â
Distance: The distance group will be highlighted by the 3000m race at 3:35 p.m. PT. During the cross country season, a talented freshman squad made an impact as Meagen Lowe and Gabby Peterson were consistent top finishers for the Beavers and will be joined by Greta van Calcar and Alyssa Foote for the 3K race.Â
