Beavers Excited For Season-Opening Tournament

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State women's golf team opens its much-anticipated 2019-20 season Monday and Tuesday at the Cougar Cup in Pullman, Wash.
FIELD (15): Oregon State, BYU, California, Colorado, Colorado State, Denver, Gonzaga, Idaho, New Mexico, Oregon, Pepperdine, Seattle, San Francisco, Washington, Washington State
COURSE: The tournament will be held at the Palouse Ridge Golf Course.
BEAVERS' LINEUP: Oregon State will go with a lineup of seniors Mari Nishiura and Nicole Schroeder, junior Ellie Slama and freshmen Chayse Gomez and Issy Taylor.
FORMAT: Two-day, 54-hole tournament with 36 holes of continuous play on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday. The top-four individuals from each five-member team with the lowest scores for each 18-hole round constitute the scoring members for that given round.
TEE TIMES: There will be a shotgun start beginning at 8 a.m. on Monday and 7:45 a.m. on Tuesday.
LIVE SCORING: There will be live scoring for the tournament at golfstat.com.

- Advanced to the NCAA Regionals for the third consecutive year; it was the first time making it three straight years since 1999-2000-2001.
- Finished No. 32 in the golfstat.com rankings, the highest finish in program history.
- Set the program's single-season scoring average record (73.18).
- Won the team title at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown; it was the 12th team title in program history.
- Recorded seven top-five finishes in the 11 tournaments.
- Equaled the lowest single-round score in program history with a 10-under 278 at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown.
- Posted the best three-round score in program history with a 26-under 838 at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown; the previous record was a 14-under 850 at the Westbrook Spring Invitational in the spring of 2018.
- Ellie Slama broke her own Oregon State's single-season scoring average record (71.69).
- Olivia Benzin (73.56) broke Oregon State's senior scoring average record and Nicole Schroeder (74.48) set the program's junior scoring average record.
- Ellie Slama became the first Oregon State women's golfer selected to the All-Pac-12 First Team and the first named Pac-12 Golfer of the Month.
- Ellie Slama (first, 71.69), Olivia Benzin (third, 73.56) and Nicole Schroeder (ninth, 74.48) all finished in the top 10 on Oregon State's single-season scoring average list.
- Ellie Slama (twice) and Nicole Schroeder equaled the lowest under-par score in Oregon State history with a 6-under.
- Ellie Slama won the individual title at the Trinity Forest Invitational.
- Ellie Slama (first, 72.21), Olivia Benzin (second, 74.20), Nicole Schroeder (third, 74.73) and Susie Cavanagh (fifth, 75.27) are in the top five on Oregon State's career scoring list (must have played 40 rounds and two full seasons to qualify).
- Olivia Benzin, Susie Cavanagh, Amanda Minni, Mari Nishiura, Nicole Schroeder and Ellie Slama all received Pac-12 All-Academic recognition; the six selections were the most of any school in the Pac-12 and the most in one year in the history of the program (the previous school record was four in 2010).
