Wingeleth Qualifies for NCAA Championships

SACRAMENTO – Redshirt junior Ann Wingeleth's performance in the high jump highlighted the first day of competition for the Oregon State track and field team at the NCAA West Preliminary Championships in Sacramento State on Thursday.
Wingeleth qualified for her first NCAA Championships finishing in a tie for 10th place in the high jump. The Lyman, Wyo. native tied her personal best with a clear of 5-feet, 8.75-inches on her first attempt. She also cleared 5-5 and 5-7 on her first attempts.
Lindsay McShane competed in the hammer throw on Thursday evening, the first of two events for the junior. McShane finished in 18th place with a best throw of 196-feet, 9-inches which came on her final attempt of three throws.
The Beavers had three entrants into the javelin in Destiny Dawson, Delaney Hall and Jordynn Slater. 2018 All-American Dawson had the best finish for OSU in 24th place at 147-feet, 3-inches. Dawson finishes her career at OSU as the all-time leader in the javelin at 171-feet, 7-inches.
Hall managed a best throw of 139-feet, 8-inches for a finish in 37th place, while Slatter managed 136-feet, 3-inches for 44th place finish.
Oregon State continues competition at the regional event on Friday with the discus and the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
