Beavers Set For Saturday Clash With Trojans

THE GAME: Oregon State (16-9, 8-5 Pac-12) goes for the season sweep of USC (15-12, 8-6 Pac-12) when the teams meet at 3 p.m. on Saturday at the Galen Center in Los Angeles.

vs. USC: Oregon State and USC meet for the 140th time in history with the Trojans leading the series 74-65, including a 39-23 advantage in games played in Los Angeles.

Since 1990, USC is 23-4 at home in the series with the Oregon State wins coming in 1995, 2003, 2010 and 2014.

Oregon State snapped a six-game losing streak in the series with a 79-74 overtime win on Jan. 10 at Gill Coliseum in Corvallis. Stephen Thompson Jr. scored a career-high 34 points and tied a career best with 10 rebounds. Ethan Thompson had 13 points and Gligorije Rakocevic added 10 off the bench. Tres Tinkle missed the game with a left ankle injury. Bennie Boatwright led USC with 37 points.

The Trojans won all three meetings last season. The first was 74-67 on Jan. 20 at Gill Coliseum in Corvallis. The second was 72-59 on Feb. 17 at the Galen Center in Los Angeles. The third was 61-48 on March 8 in the quarterfinals of the Pac-12 Tournament in Las Vegas.

Be the first time Oregon State won four conference road games in a season since 1992-93.
Be the third time in five seasons under Wayne Tinkle that Oregon State has won at least 17 games; the Beavers won 17-plus games three times in the 24 seasons before Tinkle became the head coach.
