February 14, 2019 | Women's Cross Country
NEW ORLEANS – The Oregon State cross country team has garnered All-Academic honors for their efforts in both the classroom and on the field of competition as announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association on Thursday.
Â
The Beavers held a team grade point average of 3.64 and were one of 427 division I schools to earn the honor. Of those 427 colleges and universities, Oregon State had the 34th best GPA.
Â
Senior Juliana Mount was also honored for her individual efforts this past season. Mount was one of 267 individual student-athletes to be honored as a 2018 NCAA DI Cross Country Individual All-Academic selection.
Â
In order to earn this All-Academic distinction, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-25 (or 10 percent) at the NCAA Regional Championships or as an All-American at the NCAA Championships.
Â
Mount is a senior from San Jose, Calif. who earned her second Pac-12 All-Academic First Team selection after the conclusion of the 2018 season. Mount was OSU's top finisher in all six meets she competed in, which included the first All-Conference designation for Oregon State with her 14th place finish at the Pac-12 Championships. Her 12th place finish at the NCAA Regional Championships earned her second career All-Region honor.
