Beavers To Face Oklahoma At Moda Center In Phil Knight Invitational

THE GAME: Oregon State (2-0) will face a Big 12 team for the second straight game when they battle Oklahoma (2-0) at 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Moda Center in Portland in the Phil Knight Invitational.

The teams first played in the NCAA Tournament West Regional Semifinals on March 21, 1947 in Kansas City, Mo., with Oklahoma winning, 56-54. Lew Beck led the Beavers with 20 points, while Paul Carty and Gerald Tucker led Oklahoma with 17 points apiece. The Sooners advanced to the NCAA championship game that year before losing to Holy Cross.

Oklahoma won both games of a home-and-home series in 1992 and 1993. The first was 78-75 on Dec. 3 at the Lloyd Noble Center in Norman and the second was 93-87 on Dec. 4 at Gill Coliseum in Corvallis.
