Fuhrman, Nedza compete at Charles Bowles Invitational

SALEM, Ore.– Two Beavers competed individually at the 45th Charles Bowles Invitational on Saturday morning as redshirt junior Maddie Fuhrman and freshman Sydni Nedza represented the No. 24 team in the country.
Fuhrman led the way for the Beavers at Bush's Pasture Park as she finished 11th overall, grabbing a top-20 finish in her second career 5K. She posted a time of 18:24.2 over the 5-kilometer course, a career-best at that distance.
Following Fuhrman was teammate Sydni Nedza who ran in her second collegiate race as a Beaver. The freshman finished 58th and clocked in at 19:29.6, respectively.
Hosted by Willamette University, the Beaver duo competed along fellow Divison I competition including Eastern Washington, Portland and Portland State. The Beavers had previously faced both Portland squads at the season-opening Viking Rust Buster where Oregon State swept the team title, beating out both schools by a combined 59 points.
Fuhrman previously posted a top-30 finish at the Viking Rust Buster (14:57.7) as she finished 28th on the 4-kilometer course.

The Beavers turn their focus to the prestigious Wisonsin Nuttycombe Invite at the Zimmer Championship Course when they travel to Madison, Wis. on Oct. 19.
