
Bresser Tabbed as Pac-12 Wrestler of the Week

SAN FRANCISCO – Oregon State 125-pounder Ronnie Bresser was named the Pac-12 Wrestler of the Week, Commissioner Larry Scott announced Wednesday.
Ranked No. 3 in the country at 125 pounds, Bresser picked up two wins on the road this weekend over ranked opponents. He improves to 14-1 overall on the season and 6-0 in dual meets.
At Northern Colorado, Bresser started of the match with a single-leg takedown in the opening moments of the bout. He added a second takedown at the end of the first period, and never looked back on the way to an 11-5 decision win over No. 17 Rico Montoya, helping the Beavers to a 27-12 team win.
Bresser kept the pace up for the Beavers at Wyoming facing his second ranked opponent of the weekend in No. 17 Cole Verner. Bresser put up two first-period takedowns, and while leading 4-2 after the first Bresser threw Verner to his back for the second-period fall.
This is the second Pac-12 Conference weekly award for the redshirt senior hailing from Klamath Falls, Ore.

The Beavers return back to Corvallis next week for a Pac-12 Conference matchup against No. 16 Arizona State. Match time is slated for 6 p.m. PT and will be aired on the Pac-12 Networks.
