Beavers Set to Open Indoor Season at UW Preview

CORVALLIS – The Oregon State track & field team opens the 2019 indoor season this Saturday at the UW Preview, hosted by the University of Washington at the Dempsey Indoor Center.
The Saturday only event kicks off with the field events at 9:00 a.m. with the women's pole vault, long jump and high jump. The running events kick off at 9:30 a.m. with the women's 60-meter hurdles.
Oregon State is travelling a small contingent to the indoor opener in Seattle that features 19 student-athletes. 12 entrants have prior experience for the Beavers; Claire Corbitt, Rebecca Ledsham, Tarisa Olinski, Mikayla Sodersten, Tory Edwards, Saskia McNairy, Brigette Takeuchi, Juliana Mount, Ann Wingeleth, Lindsay McShane, Sydney Guthrie-Baker and Greta Van CalCar. Throwing specialist Keely McLaughlin makes the trip with redshirt experience from last season.
Newcomers to the roster for this weekend's events include Audrey Bright, Rachel Krill, Emma Nelson,Taylor Crockem, Darian Hageman, and Lauren Miller.
The Beavers currently have entries in 13 events; 60m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1 mile, 3,000m, 60m hurdles, 4x400m relay, high jump, pole vault, long jump, triple jump, shot put, weight throw.
Last season, during head coach Louie Quintana's first season at the helm of the OSU track & field program, the Beavers racked up 37 marks that earned spots on the all-time records list. Three school records were set during that time by redshirt junior Gillette Field (pole vault), and 2018 graduates Nicole Goecke (800m) and Holly Cavalluzzo (5,000m).

The Beavers head back to Seattle after taking a week off of competition for the UW Invitational at the Dempsey Indoor Center the weekend of Jan. 25-26.
