Get to Know Kristina Schneider

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Welcome to the second installment of our series introducing the newcomers to the 2018-19 swim team. This week we're featuring Kristina Schneider. She is a freshman hailing from Baia Mare, Romania specializing in the freestyle and sprints.
What are you looking forward to most about swimming at Oregon State?
I am looking forward to improving myself every day and being the best version of me while swimming at Oregon State.
How do you spend your time outside of the pool?
Outside of the pool I am usually doing schoolwork, or I am doing activities to relax like watching TV or sleeping.
What is your first memory of being in the pool?
My first memory of being in the pool was when I was five years old, and I jumped by myself into the pool so the coach gave me a bar of chocolate as a reward.
Do you have any pre-meet superstitions?
I do not have any pre-meet superstitions. But when I am relaxed before a meet I know it would be a good one.
What other sports did you play growing up?
Growing up I did a lot of sports. I did six years of ballet and then I did volleyball, basketball, dancing, karate and in the winter, I go skiing if my schedule allows me to.
What are you planning on studying?
I am planning to study nutrition.
What is one hidden talent you have?
My hidden talent is that I am a pretty good cook!
What song/band is most likely to be playing on your phone?
Khalid is my favorite artist.
What is your favorite TV show?
My favorite TV show is 'Sex in the City.'
What actress would play you in a movie?
I would want Jennifer Aniston to play me in a movie.
Oregon State will host their Orange and Black meet this Saturday, Sept. 29 at 5 p.m. at the Osborn Aquatic Center.
