Part 3 of our series introducing this year's newcomers features Montanna Gubrud. She is a junior setter from McMinnville, Ore., who transferred to OSU after being named as a two-time All-American at Linn-Benton Community College in Albany, Ore.

What are you looking forward to most about playing for Oregon State?
Playing in a packed Gill Coliseum in front of Beaver Nation with our brand new videoboard.

Who is/was your role model?
Rihanna because she is extremely ambitious and confident and those are both qualities I hope to embody.
Â
What was the best thing you did this summer?
The best thing I did this summer was travel around Europe with one of my teammates for two weeks, experiencing new cultures and eating delicious food for every meal.

Do you have a nickname?
Monty and Tanna.

Do you have a game day superstition?
I don't have many superstitions. I believe we make our own destiny.

How do you like to spend your time away from volleyball?
My favorite thing to do is travel and be around people that I care about.

Other than volleyball, which OSU team are you most excited to see this year?
I'm really excited to watch the baseball team play this year coming off a National Championship season.

What other sport did you play growing up?
I played basketball and ran track in high school and won state in the long jump my senior year.

What are you planning to study?
I am majoring in Business Marketing.
Â
What do you want to be when you grow up?
I want to own a restaurant on the beach in Southern California.

What is your favorite movie?
"Breakfast at Tiffany's"

What was your favorite childhood cartoon?
"Tom and Jerry"

What is the best meal you cook?
The best meal I cook is definitely shrimp jambalaya.

What made you choose to come to Oregon State?
I chose Oregon State because I knew it would challenge me academically as well as athletically. I love the culture that Mark (Barnard) and the players have created here. I really love my teammates and am beyond thankful for this opportunity.
