Five Swimmers Named to Pac-12 All-Academic Team

CORVALLIS – Oregon State University was represented by five student-athletes on the 2018 Pac-12 Conference Swimming and Diving All-Academic Team, league commissioner Larry Scott announced Friday. The quintet of Beavers includes first team honoree Noemie Midrez, and honorable mention selections Merritt Allen, Felicia Anderson, Megan Lam and Emma Osowski.
Midrez, a senior from Verviers, Belgium, landed on the league's first team for the third time for her 3.99 cumulative GPA in chemical engineering. The freestyler has been a leader for community service activities.
Allen is a sophomore bio-engineer major from Bend and makes the team in her first year of eligibility. Anderson, who set five NCAA B standard times during the course of the season, is a business major from Portland and also makes the team in her first year of qualification as a sophomore. Â She also is a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and is highly involved in local community service efforts.
Lam is a junior from Portland majoring in psychology and makes her second appearance on the Conference's honorable mention team. Osowski is a senior from Valencia, Calif., and has received recognition academically for her work as a biology major three straight years. She is a member of SAAC and is one of the leaders in OSU Athletics for her commitment to community service.
