Strong Starts to Split Action Weekend for Beavers

Updates through Friday of split meets this weekend
FEDERAL WAY, Wash / GREENSBORO, NC - The Beavers are on a roll after Friday, competing in split action this week at USA Winter Nationals and at the Husky Invite.
Winter Nationals:
Felicia Anderson finished the 100 backstroke Finals on Friday with a time of 1:02.60, which earns her a spot in Omaha in 2020 at the US Olympic Trials.
Arianna Letrari swam the 100 fly in prelims, her time just .2 seconds short of qualifying for the finals for the event. She would later improve on her first swim in the bonus finals for the 100 fly.
Freshman Cali Rowland posted a time of 1:14.35, a new lifetime record, in the prelims for the 100 breaststroke, her first event on the national stage at the collegiate level.
"I am pleased with how each of these swimmers are performing and their focus on how to approach their races," said head coach Jennifer Buffin. "They are enjoying competing at one of the highest levels of competition in the USA."
Races on Saturday:
All three Beavers in Greensboro will be competing in 200's of their stroke this morning in prelims looking to earn a spot in the second session finals.

Arianna Letrari – 200 Fly
Cali Rowland – 200 Breast
Husky Invite
After the first full day of action at the Husky Invite the Beavers sit in first place with 365 points!
Amanda Hoejberg led the way for the Beavers, placing first in the 50 free with a time of 23.46, a new career best. Hoejberg also anchored the Beavers first place 400 medley relay team.
Paige Maynard added 26.5 points for the Beavers, finishing in 3rd place in the 200 IM Finals with a time of 2:04.42. Laurey Yon finished close behind her in 7th place with a time of 2:06.73, good for 23 points.
"Overall, it was a good first day," said Buffin. "Everyone in the preliminaries achieved a season or personal best. I expect the team to get better in the next couple of sessions going into their primary stroke events."
"Everyone is focused and excited on both sides of the country," continued Buffin.
Races on Saturday:
The 9:00 a.m. morning session will consist of Prelims, with the fastest times advancing to the evening finals.
400 IM – Lauren Yon, Jacquie Price, Amina Bachir.
100 Fly – Jacquie Price, Lindsay Swail, Paige Maynard, Connor Doran.
200 Free – Riley Neal, Erin Harvey, Amanda Hoejberg, Katie Manzione, Callan Jackman, Chloe Bowman, Amina Bachir, Connor Doran.
100 Breast – Brooke Hofmann, Rachel Pride, Fernanda Rodriguez, Lauren Yon.
100 Back – Lindsay Swail, Brooke Hofmann, Izzy Bishop, Maddie Rainey.
