Beavers Take Flight to Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational

CORVALLIS – The Oregon State wrestling team is back in action this week at the multi-day Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational, one of the nation's premier tournaments. The Beavers travel to the Las Vegas Convention Center for the two-day event beginning on Friday.
The two day event will have coverage provided by FloWrestling. You can tune in via the live stream for a small fee, or the live results.
The tournament is a single-entry format meaning that each team may only enter one wrestler at each weight class. The Beavers projected starters for the weekend are as follows:
125 – No. 3 Ronnie Bresser (Redshirt Senior, 4-0)
133 – Kegan Calkins (Redshirt Senior, 2-2)
141 – Grant Willits (Redshirt Freshman, 4-2)
149 – Josh Reyes (Senior, 7-2)
157 – No. 17 Hunter Willits (Sophomore, 9-1)
165 – Aaron Olmos (Redshirt Freshman, 4-3)
174 – Colt Doyle (Redshirt Junior, 4-2)
184 – Myles Terry (Sophomore, 7-2)
197 – No. 12 Corey Griego (Redshirt Senior, 2-3)
285 – Jamarcus Grant (Redshirt Sophomore, 9-2)
The last time out the Beavers had two place winners at the Navy Classic two weekends ago. H. Willits placed second at 157 pounds, while Griego placed sixth. Last year at the Cliff Keen Invitational the Beavers placed in 31st overall with 18 team points.
More than 40 teams are expected to be in attendance this weekend with the possibility of seeing over 100 ranked individuals on the mats. Oregon State currently has three wrestlers who are in the rankings: No. 3 125-pounder Ronnie Bresser, No. 17 157-pounder Hunter Willits, and No. 12 197-pounder Corey Griego.
Ranked teams that are slated to attend include No. 2 Ohio State, No. 5 Michigan, No. 6 Missouri, No. 9 Cornell, No. 10 Minnesota, No. 11 Nebraska, No. 13 Virginia Tech, No. 14 North Carolina, No. 15 Purdue, No. 17 Illinois, No. 18 Northern Iowa, No. 19 North Dakota State, No. 21 Wyoming, No. 23 Northwestern, No. 24 Pittsburg, and No. 25 Rutgers.
