LONG BEACH, Calif. – Ethan Thompson scored 18 points and Stephen Thompson Jr. added 17 to lead Oregon State to a 75-72 win over Long Beach State on Sunday afternoon at the Walter Pyramid.

The Beavers (5-1) used a 15-3 second-half run to take an 11-point lead and held on for a true road win over the 49ers (2-5).

Holding a 73-72 lead with 11.4 seconds on the clock, Zach Reichle knocked down two clutch free throws for three-point advantage.

Long Beach State missed a 3-pointer with four seconds to play and Tres Tinkle blocked a potential game-tying 3-pointer at the buzzer.

Tinkle scored 12 points and grabbed nine rebounds, Gligorije Rakocevic added 10 points and six boards and Kylor Kelley finished with six points, seven rebounds and five blocked shots.

Reichle tied a career high with seven points and added four rebounds, three assists and two steals.

The Thompson brothers combined to go 14-for-30 from the field, 4-for-10 from beyond the arc and 3-for-3 from the free throw line. Ethan Thompson grabbed seven rebounds.

KJ Byers led Long Beach State with 13 points.
