
Oregon State Takes Eight Pac-12 Honors

Boss is Conference Coach of the Year, Djeffal Freshman of the Year
CORVALLIS – The Oregon State men's soccer team took home a total of eight Pac-12 postseason awards, including Coach of the Year and Freshman of the Year, the conference office announced Wednesday.

Head coach Terry Boss was named Pac-12 Coach of the Year in his first season with the team, while Sofiane Djeffal was tabbed as Freshman of the Year. Djeffal also made the Pac-12 First Team, along with senior Don Tchilao. Senior Hassani Dotson and freshman Gloire Amanda made the all-conference second team, while Eric Diaz and Joe Hafferty were tabbed All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention.

Boss has led the Beavers to the NCAA Tournament in his first year as head coach. The Philomath, Ore. native guided Oregon State to a 10-5-3 regular-season record and a second-place finish in the Pac-12, the second-best placing in the Pac-12/10 in program history.

Djeffal is tied for the Pac-12 lead in assists with seven and has scored four goals on the year. The freshman has started all 18 matches for Oregon State this year, taking 34 shots.

Tchilao has earned Pac-12 Player of the Week honors twice this season. The senior is second in the Pac-12 in points with seven goals and a conference-leading seven assists. The senior has played in every match this season, and has 16 career goals.

Dotson has been a force in the midfield for the Beavers, playing every minute this season. He earned Pac-12 Player of the Week recognition on Oct. 16, and scored his lone goal of the season against UCLA on Oct. 28, helping Oregon State net a 4-3 overtime victory.

Amanda is third in the Pac-12 with eight goals this season, and has started all 18 of Oregon State's matches this season. The freshman's tally included three game-winners, and he has recorded 52 shots on the year.

Diaz started 15 of Oregon State's 18 matches, scoring game-winning goals vs. American and CSU Bakersfield. The junior has also recorded three assists on the year.

Hafferty has been a crucial part of the Oregon State back-three that has held five clean sheets this season. The sophomore has played every minute of action this year.
