No. 22 Beavers Set For Two-Day Tournament

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State women's golf team will compete in its second of five fall tournaments when it tees it up at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational Tuesday and Wednesday in Sammamish, Wash.

The Beavers are No. 22 in the nation in the latest Golfweek rankings. It's the highest ranking in program history.

FIELD (12): Oregon State, BYU, Georgetown, Hawai'i, Iowa, Long Beach State, Pepperdine, Rutgers, San Francisco, Seattle, UC Davis and Washington.

COURSE: The tournament will be held at the par-72, 6,014-yard Sahalee Country Club. The course has played host to several prestigious tournaments through the years, including the 2010 U.S. Senior Open, 2002 NEC World Championship and 1998 PGA Championship.

BEAVERS' LINEUP: Oregon State will go with a lineup of seniors Olivia Benzin and Susie Cavanagh, junior Mari Nishiura, and sophomores Amanda Minni and Ellie Slama.

FORMAT: Two-day, 54-hole tournament with 36 holes of continuous play on Tuesday and 18 holes on Wednesday. The top-four individuals from each five-member team with the lowest scores for each 18-hole round constitute the scoring members for that given round.

TEE TIMES: There will be tee times off the first and 10th holes beginning at 8 a.m. on Tuesday. The Beavers will start on the first tee at 9 a.m. and be paired with BYU and Iowa.

LIVE SCORING: There will be live scoring for the tournament at golfstat.com.

LAST TIME OUT: Oregon State finished in second place at the 36-hole stroke play portion of the East West Match Play Challenge in mid-September.

The Beavers shot a 1-over 287-290--577 at the par-72, 6,292-yard Radrick Farms Golf Course in Ann Arbor, Mich., to finish second and advance to the championship bracket. UC Davis (1-under 293-282--575), Iowa State (3-over 289-290--579) and Ohio State (9-over 292-293--585) were the other teams in the championship bracket.

Amanda Minni and Ellie Slama both went 2-0 in match play competition. Minni defeated Yukie Sasaki of Ohio State 3 and 2, a day after taking down Taglao Jeeravivitaporn of Iowa State 4 and 3. Slama cruised to a 5 and 3 win over the Buckeyes' Nikilotte Schroeder to move to 2-0 following a victory over Iowa State's Chayanit Wangmahaporn.
