Beavers Prepared For Two-Day Tournament

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State men's golf team returns to the links to compete at the Alister MacKenzie Invitational in Fairfax Calif., on Monday and Tuesday.
FIELD (15): Oregon State, Arizona State, Augusta, California, Fresno State, Hawai'i, Long Beach State, Pepperdine, San Diego, San Diego State, San Francisco, San Jose State, Santa Clara, St. Mary's and UC Davis.
COURSE: The tournament will be held at the par-71, 6,734-yard Meadow Club.
BEAVERS' LINEUP: Oregon State will go with a lineup of junior Shawn Lu, sophomores Keaton Gudz and Spencer Tibbits, and freshmen Sean Kato and Nolan Thoroughgood.
FORMAT: Two-day, 54-hole tournament with 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday. The top-four individuals from each five-member team with the lowest scores for each 18-hole round constitute the scoring members for that given round.
TEE TIMES: There will be a shotgun start at 8:15 a.m. on Monday with 36 holes of continuous play and tee times beginning at 7:40 a.m. on Tuesday.
LIVE SCORING: There will be live scoring for the tournament at golfstat.com.

LAST YEAR AT THE ALISTER MacKENZIE INVITATIONAL: Shawn Lu and Spencer Tibbits each fired a 5-under 66 in the final round of last year's Alister MacKenzie Invitational to lead Oregon State to a strong finish.
The Beavers carded a 12-under 272 in the final round to move two spots up the leaderboard and finish seventh in the 16-team field with a 15-under 280-285-272--837. The 12 under equaled the fifth-lowest single-round score in program history.
Tibbits posted a top-10 finish for the second straight tournament with a sixth-place showing. He finished the two-day, 54-hole tournament with an 11-under 68-68-66—202, equaling the fifth-lowest three-round score in school history. He began his collegiate career with a tie for ninth place at the Mark Simpson Invitational.
Lu's 66 helped him jump 25 spots up the leaderboard into a tie for 21st place with a 3-under 75-69-66--210. His previous best single-round and three-round scores were a 1-under 71 (four times) and a 2-over 218 at The Jackrabbit two years ago.
Trevor Yu finished in a tie for 29th place with a 1-under 68-74-70--212, Jonas Liebich posted a 3-over 72-74-70--216 (t-46) and Kyosuke Hara shot an 8-over 72-76-73—221 (t-68).
California won the team title with a 41-under 811 and the Golden Bears' K.K. Limbhasut claimed medalist honors with a 15-under 198.
