Cover Name Pac-12 Player of the Week

CORVALLIS – Oregon State freshman Alex Cover has been selected as Pac-12 Player of the Week, following his game-winning overtime goal vs. California on Sunday. Cover was also selected to Top Drawer Soccer National Team of the Week on Tuesday, after being named to the College Soccer News Team of the Week on Monday.

The defender's tally was the first of his collegiate career. Cover played every minute in both of Oregon State's games in the Bay Area, helping the team earn a draw with No. 12 Stanford on Thursday before beating the Golden Bears on Sunday.

A pre-business major, Cover has started 10 matches on the season, serving as part of an OSU back line that has held four clean sheets.

Cover joins Don Tchilao and Hassani Dotson as Oregon State players to earn Pac-12 Player of the Week honors this season.

As a team, the Beavers have moved to 8-4-3 on the campaign. Oregon State will return to Lorenz Field this week for its final two home matches of the regular season.
