Markey Earns Honor For Second-Straight Season
CORVALLIS – Oregon State standouts Hassani Dotson, Jordan Jones, Jalen Markey and Don Tchilao have all been named to the Hensor/Zaher Classic All-Tournament Team.
The quartet helped the Beavers win the tournament for the third consecutive season, capping the weekend off with a 4-0 thrashing of Wright State on Sunday.
Dotson played 169 minutes over the course of the two matches, including all 110 minutes in Friday's double-overtime game against DePaul. The sophomore also started both contests, bringing his career total to 17 starts.
Jones got on the scoresheet in both matches, netting the Beavers' lone goal on Friday and following that up by notching Oregon State's second goal on Sunday. The forward was also credited with an assist on Jesse Garcia's 75th minute goal against Wright State. Jones leads the Beavers with 19 career goals scored.
Markey anchored the Oregon State back-line in both matches. The redshirt-junior, who also made the All-Tournament Team at last season's Hensor/Zaher Classic, played every minute over the weekend, helping the Beavers limit their opponents to one goal over the course of the two matches.
Tchilao was a force on the wing throughout the weekend. The sophomore tallied his first goal of the 2016 season on Sunday, finding the net from outside the box to give the Beavers a 4-0 edge.
Oregon State now sets its sights on the Portland Nike Classic, which begins on Friday. The Beavers will host two games as part of the tournament, taking on San Jose State on Friday evening, before facing Ohio State on Monday Sept. 5 (Labor Day).
