
Beavers top MPSF All-Academic team

CORVALLIS, Ore. – A total of 19 Oregon State track & field student/athletes were named to the 2016 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation's all-academic team for indoor track, MPSF executive director Al Beaird announced.
The 19 selections tied Washington for the most in the 19-team organization.
To be eligible for selection, a student/athlete must have a 3.0 cumulative grade-point average; be at least a sophomore academically; have completed at least one full academic year at their present school, and have competed in at least one-half of their school's games or events during the season.
OSU's all-academic selections were seniors Morgan Anderson (3.73, kinesiology, Scotts Mills, Ore.); Kira Kelly (3.89, kinesiology, Bend, Ore.); Kelsi Schaer (3.95, marketing, Tigard, Ore.); Maureen Tremblay (3.94, kinesiology, Gig Harbor, Wash.); Sara Almen (3.15, digital communication arts, Albany, Ore.); and Kara Hallock (3.63, public health, Lebanon, Ore.).
Other seniors honored were Helen Ann Haun (3.23, bioengineering, Healdsburg, Calif.); Lucinda Howard (3.52, kinesiology, Bend, Ore.); Bethany Imperial (3.48, apparel design, Wapato, Wash.); Allison Jackson (3.95, apparel design, Palmdale, Calif.); Jessica Lautenbach (3.70, apparel design, Portland, Ore.), and Michele Turney (3.72, kinesiology, Corvallis, Ore.).
Honored juniors were Holly Cavalluzzo (3.18, kinesiology, Montgomery, N.Y.); Kala Kopecek (3.29, pre-chemical engineering, Lakewood, Calif.); Ahsha Mootz (3.22, psychology, Cottage Grove, Ore.), and Annie Sidor (3.44, animal sciences, Bend, Ore.).
Honored sophomores were Kerissa D'Arpino (3.05, human development and family science, Grants Pass, Ore.); Amy Hilger (3.17, biology, Banks, Ore., and Jasmin McKenzie (3.37, sociology, Portland, Ore.).
