
Beavers off to Bay Area

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State's middle distance runners will compete at the San Francisco State Distance Carnival and the Stanford Invitational this weekend.
Holly Cavalluzzo, Kira Kelly, Emily Weber, Gwyneth McMorris, Juliana Mount (pictured above) and Kristiane Width will run the 1500 meters and Samantha Lewis will run the 5000 at the ninth-annual Distance Carnival at Cox Stadium.
It features teams from 29 states, Canada and Mexico from all three NCAA divisions, the NAIA and junior colleges. More than 1,700 athletes will compete.
Morgan Anderson will run in the 1500 on Friday at the Stanford Invitational, at Cobb Track and Angell Field. She has OSU's best time in the 1500 this season, a 4:29.27 posted at the Lewis & Clark Spring Break Invitational on March 19.
Mount will make her outdoor debut in the 800 on Saturday. She ran 2:15.25 indoors at the Portland Invitational on Feb. 4, the No. 2 mark in school history.
The Beavers will compete at the Sun Angel Invitational in Tempe and the John Knight Invitational at Western Oregon next weekend.
