
OSU Swims Pair of Relays on Day One at Pac-12's

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – The Oregon State swimming team opened competition at the Pac-12 Championships on Wednesday night at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center with multiple entries in each of the 200-yard medley relay and the 800-yard freestyle relay.
Amani Amr, Czsarina Isleta, Andrea Young and Claire McLaggan highlighted top Beaver performers on Wednesday night by combining for a time of 1:44.48 in the 200-yard medley relay, good for eighth place and 44 points.
The foursome of Constance Toulemonde, Megan Lam, Isleta and Sammy Harrison added 42 points in the 800-yard freestyle relay, clocking a time of 7:28.76 for a ninth-place finish.
Oregon State sits in ninth place with 86 points following the first day of competition. UCLA leads the field with 176 points, while Stanford ranks second with 172 points and Utah places third with 123. Washington State owns a narrow edge over the Beavers with 92 points.
The Beavers also posted times of 1:45.28 and 1:47.82 in the 200-yard medley relay. Sophie MacEwan, Corrine Shigeta, Megan Lam and Anni Hecker swam the former, while Lauren Hunter, Alice Ochs, Brooke Meyer and Tair Maimon swam the latter.
Hecker, Corrine Shigeta, Emma Osowski and Noemie Midrez combined for the Beavers' final relay performance of the night, clocking a time of 7:43.07 in the 800-yard freestyle relay.
Oregon State will compete in the 500-yard freestyle, 200-yard IM, 50-yard freestyle and the 200-yard freestyle relay on Thursday. Preliminaries for those events will begin at 11 a.m. PT, while the finals for each respective event are slated for 6 p.m. PT.
