
Oregon State Swimming Set for Pac-12 Championships

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State swimming team will travel to Federal Way, Wash. this week for the Pac-12 Championships, a four-day meet lasting from Wednesday, Feb. 24 through Saturday, Feb. 27.
The four-day meet is scheduled to be held at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center. At last year's Pac-12 Championships, Oregon State piled up 286 points for a ninth-place finish.
Competition opens on Wednesday at 6 p.m. PT. The Beavers will participate in each of the two events that day, the 200 medley relay and the 800 freestyle relay.
Oregon State will compete in the 500 freestyle, 200 IM, 50 freestyle and the 200 freestyle relay on Thursday. Preliminaries for those event will begin at 11 a.m. PT, while the finals for each respective event are slated for 6 p.m. PT.
The bulk of the weekend's competition is slated for Friday and Saturday, with each of the 400 IM, 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke and 400 medley relay scheduled for Friday. Preliminary heats are set for an 11 a.m. PT start, while the finals will be held at 6 p.m. PT.
The Pac-12 Championships wrap up on Saturday with the 200 backstroke, 100 freestyle, 200 breaststroke, 200 butterfly, 1,650 freestyle and 400 freestyle relay. Preliminaries begin at 11 a.m. PT, and finals will again be held at 6 p.m. PT. Sandwiched in between will be the 1,650 freestyle, which is tentatively set for a 4 p.m. PT start.
Senior Sammy Harrison placed second in the 1,650 freestyle at the Pac-12 Championships last season, clocking a time of 15:54.61, the fastest time in program history by over 30 seconds.
