Beaver Swimming Resumes Action at Husky Invite
November 30, 2016 | Women's Swimming
CORVALLIS, Ore. — After being idle for nearly a month, the Oregon State women's swimming team will return to action at the 68th annual Husky Invite at Weyerhauser King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Wash., on Friday – Sunday.
Â
The Beavers will travel 19 athletes competing in a total of 67 individual events and nine relays over the three-day competition.
Â
"It has been an exciting fall for the program," said head coach Jennifer Buffin. "The team has embraced new expectations and have worked hard toward achieving their individual goals. This meet will gage where we are as a team, as the focus continues to be about the process, learning from each race and how we can be better. We still have a lot of opportunities to swim fast against both collegiate and club swimmers and it will be fun weekend of racing."
Â
The Husky Invite, hosted by the Husky Swimming Foundation, invites all USA Swimming and Collegiate clubs and will include eight collegiate programs from the pacific northwest, Idaho, Utah and California. See the team list HERE.
Â
College teams will score only against other college teams and will score in the following:
- Top 24 in each event score
- Top 40 in 50-Free advance to finals
- Top 32 in 100 and 200 events advance to finals
- Top 24 in 400 and up events advance to finalsÂ
Oregon State will compete at the Husky Invite for the first time since the 2012-13 season when it recorded 16 top-five finishes in relays and individual events.
