
Beaver Swim Signs Four

CORVALLIS, Ore. — Oregon State head swimming coach, Jennifer Buffin announced Wednesday the signing of four high school student-athletes to letters of intent to continue their academic and swimming careers at Oregon State.

Joining the program following their senior year is, Izzy Bishop, Morgan Kollen, Riley Neal and Maddie Rainey.
"Looking towards the future it was important to find the right people that embrace the values of Oregon State as well as the culture of the Pac-12," said head coach Jennifer Buffin. "All four of these young women were the right fit and I am confident that each of them will be ready to work hard to strengthen our program next years."
Izzy Bishop – Tucson, Arizona
Top Times: :57, 2:05 Backstroke
Competes for Catalina Foothills HS and Tucson Ford Dealers Aquatics under Coach Paul Stafford. Bishop finished her high school career with a 7th place finish in the 100 backstroke at the Arizona High School DII State Championships and helped lead her team to a 4th place finish in the 200 medley relay. She will add depth to the backstroke events and look to develop into a contributor at the Pac-12 level while at Oregon State.

Morgan Kollen – Zeeland, Michigan
Top Times: 1:51, 4:56, 16:56 FR
Competed for Wayne State University as a freshman during the 2015-16 season. Was named to the CSCAA Scholar All-America First Team and Honorable Mention NCAA Division II All-American while finishing 12th in the 500 free at the NCAA DII Championships in 2016. She will come in and immediately add to Oregon State's distance group and be in position to score points at the Pac 12 Championships.

Riley Neal – Hillsboro, Oregon
Top Times: :52, 1:51, 4:58 Freestyle, 2:04 Butterfly
Competes for Century High School in Hillsboro, Oregon and the Hillsboro Swim Team under the direction of Coach James Resare. Having grown up in Oregon, Neal has been a life-long Beaver fan and the opportunity to have an in-state swimmer come and immediately make an impact in the mid-distance freestyle and butterfly events is invaluable.

Maddie Rainey – Bellevue, Washington
Top Times: :57, 2:04 Backstroke
Competes for Newport High School and the Bellevue Club Swim Team under the direction of Coach Andrew Nguyen. Finished 8th overall this year at the Washington High School 4A State Championships in the 100 backstroke. Rainey will add depth to the backstroke events and look to develop into a scorer at the Pac-12 level.

"All the swimmers understand what we hope to accomplish at Oregon State in making the program relevant again in the Pac-12 and nationally," continued Buffin. "All of them will play a significant role in moving the program forward."

Oregon State will return to action on December 2-4, when it travels north to Washington for the Husky Invite.
