January 06, 2016 | Men's Soccer
Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – Oregon State senior Mikhail Doholis will join the nation's top professional prospects at the upcoming Major League Soccer Player Combine, which will run from Jan. 7-12 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Doholis was a standout for the Beaver throughout his four-year career, playing in 75 matches and recording six goals. The senior stepped into a leadership role during his final collegiate season, and had one of the best moments of his career in the season-opener, scoring an overtime goal to lift the Beavers over Marquette at Paul Lorenz Field.
The 60 players at the combine have been divided into four teams as they compete for the attention of MLS clubs. Doholis will compete as part of Team X, which is coached by Akron's Jared Embrick. He is joined on the squad by Pac-12 players James Moberg (Washington) and Brandon Vincent (Stanford).
The 2016 MLS SuperDraft will take place on Jan. 14 in Baltimore, Md. The Beavers were well represented at last season' draft, with Khiry Shelton being selected by New York City FC with the No. 2 overall pick. Will Seymore was also selected by FC Dallas in the third round of the 2015 SuperDraft.
