
OSU Swimming Closes Regular Season at Boise State

CORVALLIS, Ore. – After road meets at Idaho and Washington State last weekend, the Oregon State swimming team will return to the Gem State this weekend for its final meet of the regular season, as the Beavers are set to face Boise State on Saturday.
The Beavers will open competition at Boise State on Saturday at 11 a.m. PT. The meet is slated to be held at the Boise West YMCA.
When Oregon State competed at Idaho just last weekend, the Beavers took four events from the Vandals, highlighted by a pair of wins by senior Sammy Harrison in the 500-yard freestyle (5:08.37) and the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:22.83), as well as wins by senior Amani Amr in the 100-yard backstroke (57.56), as well as by junior Andrea Young in the 200-yard IM (2:11.27).
Harrison had repeated in the two events after winning both the 500 (5:01.16) and the 1,000 (10:13.14) at Washington State the previous day. The Beavers secured wins in three other events exhibitioned by the Cougars, including a win by senior Constance Toulemonde in the 100-yard butterfly (58.17), a win by Young in the 200-yard IM (2:11.17), as well as a 400-yard freestyle relay victory (3:36.54), swam by Toulemonde, junior Anni Hecker, Young and Harrison.
Entering this weekend, Boise State has won 20 consecutive home meets, including its two previous home meets this season over Idaho (185-148) and Denver (156-144). The Broncos finished second at the Mountain West Championships last season.
Following this weekend's action, the Oregon State swimming team will be off for just over three weeks before returning to completion on Wednesday, Feb. 24 for the Pac-12 Swimming Championships. The conference meet will last through Saturday, Feb. 27, and will be held at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Wash. Television coverage will debut on the Pac-12 Networks at a later date.
