
Mueller Named Pac-12 Player of the Week, OSU No. 8

CORVALLIS – Oregon State sophomore Timmy Mueller earned yet another prestigious honor Tuesday, when he was named Pac-12 Player of the Week. Mueller was also honored as part of the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week today, after earning College Soccer News Team of the Week recognition on Monday.
Mueller scored three goals over the weekend. The forward netted the game-winner against Duquesne in the 89th minute on Friday, and then netted a pair against Cornell on Sunday. Mueller was also named the Duquesne Invitational Tournament MVP for his efforts.
The Beavers also received more good news on the team side, as the squad moved up to No. 8 in the NSCAA Coaches' Poll, the team's highest ever ranking. Oregon State is also currently ranked No. 6 by Top Drawer Soccer, which released its Top-25 on Monday.
Oregon State earned a pair of wins this week, as it moved to 5-0, the best start in school history. The Beavers opened the weekend with a 3-2 win over Duquesne on Friday night, and followed that up with a 2-0 win over Cornell on Sunday. With the wins, OSU won the Duquesne Invitational.
The Beavers return to action Thursday at Portland.
