CORVALLIS – The Oregon State men's soccer team has reached new heights in the rankings this week, coming in at No. 6 in the Top Drawer Soccer Poll, which was released today. The Beavers are also ranked ninth in the College Soccer News Top 30.
Oregon State earned a pair of wins this week, as it moved to 5-0, the best start in school history. The Beavers opened the weekend with a 3-2 win over Duquesne on Friday night, and followed that up with a 2-0 win over Cornell on Sunday. With the wins, OSU won the Duquesne Invitational.
The Beavers' success in the standings has been met with individual awards. The forward netted the game-winner against Duquesne in the 89th minute, and then netted a pair against Cornell.
Mueller was also named the Duquesne Invitational Tournament MVP for his efforts. Fellow sophomore Jordan Jones earned All-Tournament team recognition after netting a pair of goals against Duquesne. Senior Mikhail Doholis and redshirt-freshman CJ Brill also made the All-Tournament squad.
The NSCAA Coaches' Poll and Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week will be released on Tuesday.
The Beavers return to action Thursday at Portland.
