Doholis Named To National Team Of The Week
August 31, 2015 | Men's Soccer
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State men's soccer player Mikhail Doholis was named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week following a pair of wins by the Beavers this past weekend.
Here's what College Soccer News had to say about the senior midfielder from Vancouver, Wash.:
“Doholis used his left foot to send a bullet into the top left corner of the goal from fifteen yards out to net the golden goal in overtime in Oregon State's 1-0 win over Marquette. He also made a nice run down the left side of the pitch before sending a cross into teammate Timmy Mueller who finished it to give the Beavers the edge they needed to top Michigan State 1-0. It was a very gutsy weekend for Oregon State.”
Oregon State opened its season with a 1-0 win over Marquette when Doholis scored the golden goal in the 97th minute. The Beavers weren't content with the victory, as they responded with a win over No. 9 Michigan State when Doholis assisted on a Timmy Mueller goal in the first half that held on for another 1-0 win.
The wins extended OSU's home non-conference winning streak to 19 consecutive games. They have not lost at Lorenz Field since Sept. 25, 2011; their last setback was 2-1 to Missouri-Kansas City on Sept. 23 of that season.
The Beavers take their 2-0 record on the road to face Vermont at 4:30 p.m. Friday at Merlo Field in Portland. The Catamounts are coached by Jesse Cormier, an OSU assistant from 2001-03.
