July 09, 2015 | Men's Soccer
Vancouver Whitecaps FC announced today that defender Will Seymore has been added to the Whitecaps FC 2 (WFC2) roster in the United Soccer League (USL). Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“Will is a versatile and athletic player and also a good passer," said WFC2 head coach Alan Koch. “He can play as a central defender and as a defensive midfielder. He has a desire to get better and I am excited to see how he embraces the opportunity.”
Seymore, who completed his senior season in 2014, was a solid force at the back of the Oregon State defense throughout his collegiate career, and capped off his time as a Beaver with Second-Team All-Region honors. The Soham, England native was a Pac-12 Second Team selection last season, after earning honorable mention the two prior campaigns, and started all 70 games he played for the Beavers. Seymore ended his time at OSU with 23 career points on seven goals and nine assists.
After finishing college, Seymore was selected 56th overall by FC Dallas in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft, but did not sign with the team.
Seymore will be available as early as Friday when WFC2 host Portland Timbers 2 at UBC Thunderbird Stadium.
