November 10, 2015 | Women's Cross Country
Corvallis, Ore. – Olympian and All-American Geena Gall has been named the Director of Operations for the Oregon State cross country and track & field programs, head coach Kelly Sullivan announced. She was a volunteer assistant coach before her promotion.
“She has taken on the role of running the office,” Sullivan said. “As we progress with Phase II of the Whyte Track & Field Complex and start hosting bigger meets, she will be a co-meet director.
“Geena has been around our program. She is familiar with our staff and department. Having been an Olympian, all of our student-athletes look up to her, and her personal, professional and athletic accomplishments.
“She is a great fit for our program. Her addition allows all of our staff to concentrate more on coaching, and that's really huge. She can't coach in any capacity anymore, but she is very excited about filling this role.”
Gall lettered in cross country (2005-08) and track (2006-09) at Michigan and was the 2008 and 2009 NCAA champion in the 800 meters. A 10-time All-American, she was a member of the 2012 U.S. London Olympic team, competing in the 800 meters, and has represented the U.S. in numerous other international competitions.
A native of Grand Blanc, Mich., she joined the OSU staff in March, 2014, as a volunteer assistant.
