The Oregon State men's golf team will compete at the Alister MacKenzie Invitational Monday and Tuesday at the par-71, 6,734-yard Meadow Club in Fairfax. Calif. The two-day, 54-hole tournament features 16 teams with an 8:15 a.m. shotgun start on Monday and tee times beginning at 7:45 a.m. on Tuesday.
Heading into the Beavers' final tournament of the fall season, we take a closer look at Tyler Carlson, a senior from Clarkston, Wash., who is majoring in business marketing.

What do you want to do after you graduate from Oregon State?
Play professional golf.
When and where did you start playing golf?
I first started playing golf when I was 3 in the field behind our house.
Have you ever gotten a hole-in-one? If so, when and where for each?
I have one hole-in-one when I was 12 years old at Quail Ridge Golf Course. 128 yards, 5 iron. (It was into a strong wind).
What's your favorite golf course and why?
Quail Ridge Golf Course in Clarkston, Washington. It is where I learned to play and fell in love with the game.
Why did you choose to attend Oregon State?
I chose Oregon State to play in the Pac-12 Conference and receive a degree from a great school.
What do you like best about your teammates?
I love having a group of guys that are from around the world and becoming really good friends with all of them.
What do you like best about your coaches?
I don't know if there are two coaches in the country that want their players to play better and are willing to do anything in their power to help you succeed than Coach Reehoorn and Coach Motomochi.
What do you like best about Corvallis?
I love the small town feel and everyone is a diehard Beaver fan!
Who is the most famous person you've played golf with?
The most famous person I have played golf with is Jim Jarvis. OSU basketball All-American, member of the 1963 Final Four team and ABA Champion.
Who would be in your dream foursome?
My dad, Tiger Woods, Arnold Palmer and me.
If you could play a different college sport at Oregon State, what would it be and why?
I would play football in front of the 45,000 fans in Reser Stadium.
What is your best athletic achievement to date?
Playing in the U.S. Amateur at Cherry Hills Country Club.
What are your team and individual goals for the season?
My team goal would be to make it to match play at the NCAA Championships. My personal goal is to win a tournament and leave here knowing I made the most of my opportunity.
