Meet The Beavers: Chris Tedesco

The Oregon State men's golf team will compete at the Nike Golf Collegiate Invitational Sunday through Tuesday at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club in North Plains, Ore. The three-day, 54-hole tournament features 14 teams playing at both the Ghost Creek (first round) and Witch Hollow (second and third round) golf courses.
Heading into the Beavers' third tournament of the fall season, we take a closer look at senior Chris Tedesco, who was named Pac-12 All-Academic Honorable Mention last season for his 3.36 GPA in business finance.

What is your best academic achievement to date?
Being named Pac-12 All-Academic Honorable Mention and making my parents proud.
What do you want to do after you graduate from Oregon State?
Play professional golf and use my degree in any way possible.
When and where did you start playing golf?
I started playing golf when I was 10, at performance golf driving range in Gig Harbor, Washington.
Have you ever gotten a hole-in-one? If so, when and where for each?
I have one hole-in-one at Canterwood Golf & Country Club. 167 yards, 8 iron.
What's your favorite golf course and why?
Wine Valley Golf Club in Walla Walla, Washington. I always play well there.
Why did you choose to attend Oregon State?
I chose OSU because of the opportunities it gave me as a student and as an athlete.
What do you like best about your teammates?
I like that I can have 10 best friends in a school of 30,000 students.
What do you like best about your coaches?
I love their positivity and challenges that they give me every day.
What do you like best about Corvallis?
I love the small town feel while having everything you need within five minutes of the center of campus.
Who is the most famous person you've played golf with?
The most famous person I've played golf with is Kyle Stanley (2012 Phoenix Open Champion).
Who would be in your dream foursome?
Tiger Woods, Jonnie Motomochi, LeBron James, and me.
If you could play a different college sport at Oregon State, what would it be and why?
I would play baseball. I played very competitive baseball longer than I have played golf. Call me, Coach Casey.
What is your best athletic achievement to date?
Best athletic achievement to date is playing in the US Junior Amateur.
What are your team and individual goals for the season?
My personal goal every time I step onto the first tee is to win. Team goal this season is to contend for an NCAA championship.
