
Meeks Takes 2nd at Cliff Keen Tourney

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Senior 184-pounder Taylor Meeks placed second on Saturday at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational.
Meeks lost 5-2 to Blake Stauffer in the championship match to go 4-1 in the two-day event. He edged top-seeded Gabriel Dean of Cornell 4-3 in the semifinals earlier Saturday.
The Beavers scored 56 team points and placed 10th at the 39-team event, one of the country's premier tournaments. Minnesota won the tournament.
Freshman Ronnie Bresser (125, 5-2) defeated Zeke Moisley of West Virginia in the seventh-place match. Redshirt freshman Abraham Rodriguez (149, 5-2) defeated Sol Mastriani of Virginia Tech in his seventh-place match.
Senior Alex Elder (157, 3-3) lost 17-8 to Joel Smith of Arizona State in the seventh-place match and finished eighth. Redshirt freshman Jack Hathaway (133, 2-2) and redshirt freshman Cody Crawford (197, 5-2) lost their only matches on Saturday did not place.
Devin Reynolds (141, 2-2); Seth Thomas (165, 2-2); Joe Latham (174, 1-2) and Nate Keeve (heavyweight, 1-2) were eliminated on Friday.
