• The game aired on Fox College Sports Pacific and Prime Ticket with Bill MacDonald calling play-by-play, J.J. Stokes providing analysis and Amy Bender on the sidelines.
• Oregon State captains at the start of the game were Lance Mitchell, Cameron Collins, James Rodgers and Ryan Murphy.
• Oregon State won the coin toss and elected to defer to the second half. OSU kicked off from the West end zone.
• Oregon State wore all black while UCLA wore white uniform tops with gold pants.
• The contest marked the first ever Pac-12 Conference game for both the Beavers and the Bruins.
Oregon State Team Notes
• Oregon State scored its first first-quarter points of the season when Trevor Romaine connected on a 25-yard field goal with 2:58 remaining in the quarter.
• D.J. Welch played, becoming the 10th true freshman to see action for the Beavers in 2011. That extends the single-season program record.
• Quarterback Sean Mannion started for the first time in his collegiate careers. The Beavers have now had 16 players make their first career starts at some point this season.
Oregon State Individual Notes
• James Rodgers made his first catch of the season in the first quarter, connecting with Sean Mannion on a 31-yarder on third down.
• Andrew Seumalo blocked Oregon State's second field goal attempt of the season, and second at Reser Stadium. Castro Masaniai had a blocked field goal attempt against Sacramento State.
• Seumalo later blocked a PAT in the fourth quarter, becoming the first Beaver to do so since Brandon Hardin against Oregon in 2010. Ben Siegert was the last Beaver to block two kicks of any kind in the same going, do so against Oregon in 2006 (two field goal blocks).
• Jordan Poyer returned a punt 85 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter, the first Beaver to do so since James Rodgers against Boise State in 2010. The return is the second-longest in Oregon State's history, trailing only Dwayne Owens, who had a 97-yarder against UCLA in 1992.
• Jordan Bishop's 45-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter was the longest of his career and it marked his fourth career TD pass. It was the Beavers' first touchdown through the air of the season.
• Trevor Romaine connected on field goals of 25 and 30 yards, respectively, giving him five on the year.
UCLA Team Notes
• Brehaut to Josh Smith in the first quarter was the longest play of the year for the Bruins (62-yard gain).
• Linebacker Sean Westgate's 2nd quarter interception was his second of the season.
• Wide receiver Taylor Embree now has sole possession of the No. 9 position all-time in career receptions.
