PERSONAL--Born 12/19/75 in Los Angeles, CA...son of Mike and Lupe O'Reilly...has six brothers and sisters, Josh, 21; Salote, 20; Sione, 19; Lucy, 17; Alex, 11; and Filipe, 9...he is in the College of Liberal Arts and is a communication major...Sefa is married...selected OSU because, "I wanted to play in the Pac-10 and get a good education."

OSU--(2000-Senior)--Sefa is a three-year letterman and has played in 22 games as a backup defensive player during his OSU career...he has a total of 112 career defensive points including 15 solo tackles, 16 assisted tackles, 2 sacks and 7 tackles for loss...after having reconstructive knee surgery in late September, he was able to return to action during winter conditioning and was ready for the start of spring drills...he switched positions heading into the spring and was listed as the No. 2 defensive right end at the start of the spring...he maintained that position throughout the spring, playing behind LaDairis Jackson...he played very well during the spring and demonstrated he will be a valuable backup defensive end...in the winter conditioning program, Sefa produced weightlifting bests of 355 pounds in the back squat, 385 in the bench press and 264 in the power clean...his bench press mark is the fourth best on the squad.

OSU--(1999-Junior)--Sefa lost 14 pounds during winter conditioning and asked if he could move back to linebacker...opened spring drills at 235 pounds and No. 2 on the depth chart at middle linebacker, a position he feels is home...he has played in 19 games for OSU and brings a total of 112 career defensive points to the position, including 15 solo tackles, 16 assisted tackles, 2 sacks and 7 tackles for loss...gives OSU two very solid veteran players at middle linebacker as Sefa is backing up Jonathan Jackson, who finished second in the Pac-10 in tackles in 1998...Sefa is very strong against the run and has the speed to drop for pass defense...Sefa has been very impressive in the weight room and has produced personal bests of 280 pounds in the hang clean, 430 in the bench press, 440 in the back squat and 340 in the incline...his best vertical jump is 33.00 inches.

(1998- Sophomore)--Sefa was listed as a defensive end on the spring practice depth chart but was moved inside as the spring progressed and he had a solid spring and worked his way up the chart, and returned for fall camp listed as the No. 2 defensive tackle...Sefa has excellent quickness and is very strong for a 6-1, 246-pound defensive lineman...with a year of experience under his belt, Sefa played in all 11 games as a backup inside lineman, although he was undersized for the position...produced 75 defensive points on the season, which ranked 14th among OSU defensive players...had 8 solo tackles, 15 assisted tackles, 5 tackles for loss, 2 quarterback hurry plays and a quarterback sack...his best statistical game was against Nevada in the season opener when he had 2 solo tackles, a quarterback sack and quarterback hurry...recorded 2 tackles for loss at Washington and tackles for loss at Arizona State and Utah State.

(1997-Redshirt Freshman)--Sefa returned from his two-year Mormon mission at the start of spring quarter...turned out for spring football after a two-year absence and was listed as the No. 4 middle linebacker for the start of spring drills...when Sefa left for his two-year Mission he weighed 205, but when he returned, he weighed 250...after a week at middle linebacker Sefa was moved to the line and he completed spring drills as the No. 2 tackle...Sefa played in eight games as a defensive lineman during the 1997 season, missing the ASU, Utah State and Oregon gams...he wound up with 37 defensive points...he posted 7 solo tackles, plus he had one sack and 2 tackles for loss.

(1994-Freshman)--Sefa spent his freshman year as a redshirt inside linebacker and then departed for his two-year Mormon mission following winter quarter.

HEMET HIGH SCHOOL--(1993)--Sefa played for Coach Steve Simpson and for the Hemet High School Bulldogs in 3A Sunbelt Conference...played one year for Hemet after transferring from Gardena-Serra High School in Gardena, CA...played inside linebacker for Hemet and earned first-team all-league honors...finished No. 2 in the league balloting for the league's Defensive Player of the Year...as a senior he ran the 40 in 4.6...averaged 15 points a game and 10 rebounds a contest in basketball his senior year...Hemet was 7-3 in 1993 in football...Sefa was all-league at Serra his junior season in football and basketball, plus he set a school record in the shot put...Sefa ran the third leg of the 4X400 meter relay at Serra...he broke the Serra sack record with 6 and led the South Bay in tackles with 168 as a junior...Coach Simpson said, "Sefa's potential is unlimited. He can definitely play at the Division 1-A level. He can run, he can hit, and he has good football instincts."...Sefa picked OSU over Utah.
