Oregon State Post-game Quotes
Oregon State Head Coach Mike Riley
On the game…
“It was a hard-fought football game. We didn't execute as well as we needed to against that team to win. We left quite a few plays out there in the first half with opportunities.”
“It wasn't very pretty execution-wise. The only thing I can say is we hung in there and somehow we got it to within one score in the second half. Our guys never quit. When it's at one score anything can happen. I'm proud of that, I think that was good, but we certainly have to execute better if we're going to win.”
On giving up big plays…
“You can't give any football team something like that. You give a good football team an easy six points like that? For the most part, defensively, we hung in there. We made some stops, we did some good things. They were very difficult to defend because of their balance, but you certainly can't give them a gift like that.”
On losing James Rodgers…
“He's obviously a big part of what we do, but we always expect the next guy to go in there and make the plays.”
On reaching the end of the nonconference schedule…
“I'm hoping this has been very good preparation for (Pac-10 play). Obviously we lost two games, and that's not ever good. I think the level of competition we played is the level of competition we will see in our conference.”
Oregon State defensive tackle Stephen Paea
On Boise State quarterback Kellen Moore…
“Overall he's pretty good. He's very athletic and he can throw. He's the best quarterback we've faced so far.”
On what OSU can take away from this game…
“We just have to pull our head up, and play Pac-10 next weekend. The good thing about this loss is we can learn a lot from the plays we left on the field.”
Oregon State linebacker Dwight Roberson
On the game…
“It came down to certain plays. We didn't make them and they did. We lost, but we can get from this is to learn from it and get ready for the Pac-10 Conference.”
Oregon State quarterback Ryan Katz
On what he learned today…
“I just have to play fast. That is a fast defense. I just have to hang in there when they bring pressure and just make the throws.”
