Game Notes
• Game time weather was cloudy at 43 degrees with a 39-degree real feel. Wind was 6 mph from the East, Northeast. Chance of precipitation was 10 percent and humidity was 79 percent.
• Attendance for the game was 44,969.
• The game aired live on ABC with Mark Neely serving as play-by-play commentator while Mike Bellotti and Brock Huard did color.
• The game also aired on Westwood One Radio with John Tautges as play-by-play man and former UCLA head coach Terry Donahue as the color analyst.
• The Beavers appeared on television for the 10th time this season and have been on TV for 12 consecutive games dating back to 2009. OSU has been on in 40 of their last 41 games. The Beavers are scheduled to be on television in all 12 regular season games this season.
• Oregon State captains at the start of the game were Stephen Paea, James Dockery, Jordan Poyer and Gabe Miller.
• USC won the coin toss and elected to defer to the second half. The Beavers received in the ball in the south end zone to start the game.
• Oregon State wore orange uniform tops with white pants. USC was decked out in white tops with yellow pants.
Oregon State Team Notes
• The win improved Oregon State's record to 2-2 against top 25 teams this season, and OSU is scheduled to square off against two top 10 teams to finish the regular season.
• Oregon State snapped its first two-game losing streak in Pac-10 play since 2007, and kept from its first three-game Pac-10 losing streak since 2003.
• The win gave Oregon State head coach Mike Riley his 69th at Oregon State, inching him closer to the program record of 74 held by Lon Stiner. Riley is also now three shy of tying Cal's Jeff Tedford for the most among active Pac-10 coaches.
• The win marked OSU's third straight in Corvallis over the Trojans. USC has not won a game at Reser Stadium since 2004 and has not won in the state of Oregon since 2005 at Autzen Stadium.
• The Beavers are now 34-8 over their last 85 games when committing fewer turnovers than its opponents.
• Oregon State scored at least 20 points against the Trojans for the sixth time in their last seven meetings. OSU had scored at least 20 in eight of the previous 67 meetings.
• The Beavers held USC to just seven points, the lowest point total in a game since defeating the Trojans, 3-0, in 1967. The 29-point win was the second-largest for OSU in the series' history, trailing only the 32-point win (38-6) in 1914, the first-ever meeting between the teams.
• Justin Kahut's first-quarter field goal was the team's first since he hit a 23-yarder in the first quarter against Arizona on Oct. 9. It had been 19 quarters since that field goal.
• Justin Kahut also hit on field goals of 35 and 38 yards, respectively. It's the first time OSU has three field goals in a game since Kahut had three against Oregon in the 2009 Civil War.
Oregon State Individual Notes
• Jacquizz Rodgers tallied 128 yards rushing on 26 carries on the night, giving him 3,714 yards for his career. That moves him into third in Oregon State history, surpassing Steven Jackson, who had 3,625 yards from 2001-03. Rodgers now trails only Ken Simonton (5,044 yards from 1998-01) and Yvenson Bernard (3,862 yards from 2004-07).
• By surpassing Steven Jackson, Jacquizz Rodgers moved into sole possession of 11th in Pac-10 history, and later 10th, when passing former USC running back Ricky Bell (1973-76) who had 3,689 yards. Next up is No. 9 Anthony Davis (USC, 1972-74 – 3,724 yards).
• Only former OSU running backs Ken Simonton and Yvenson Bernard have played this century and reside in the top 10.
• By finishing with 128 yards rushing, Jacquizz Rodgers now has 19 career 100-yard games for his career, tying him for second most at Oregon State with Steven Jackson and Yvenson Bernard. Rodgers has three 100-yard games against USC.
• By connecting with Jordan Bishop for a touchdown in the fourth quarter, Ryan Katz has completed at least one touchdown pass in all 10 games this season. Katz has completed at least one in 11 straight after throwing one TD against BYU in the 2009 Las Vegas Bowl.
• Stephen Paea forced a fumble in the fourth quarter, giving him a school-record eight for his career.
• Justin Kahut's 34-yard field goal in the first quarter gave him his 243rd career point, moving him into fifth in school history. He surpassed Yvenson Bernard, who had 242 points from 2004-07. Kahut ended the game with 12 points, and now has 252 for his career.
• Jordan Poyer's second-quarter interception return for touchdown was the first score of his career and his second touchdown of the season. It was OSU's first INT for a return since Keenan Lewis did so against California in 2008.
• Jacquizz Rodgers had two carries of 20 or more yards in the first half (a 23-yarder and 25-yarder), giving him 38 career offensive plays of 20 or more yards. Twenty-six of those 38 plays have been rushes.
• Jacquizz Rodgers' second-quarter touchdown was the 46th of his career and first since Oct. 30 against California. It also made him the third player in school history to tally 300 or more points for his career. The others are Alexis Serna and Ken Simonton. Rodgers has an even 300.
• Johnny Hekker's 74-yard punt in the third quarter was the second-longest punt in Oregon State history. The longest was an 80-yarder by Coquelle Thompson in 1930 against Washington State.
• Johnny Hekker had three punts downed inside the 20, giving him 56 (53) for his career, and 24 in 2010.
• Brandon Hardin finished the game with 11 tackles, which is a career-best.
