
Beavers Fall at Arizona

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) -- Chase Budinger scored 24 points as Arizona held off a late Oregon State rally to defeat the Beavers 64-47 on Saturday afternoon.
Trailing by as much as 16 in the second half, Oregon State closed to within 55-47 with 2:14 remaining; however, the Beavers could not get any closer. Arizona (11-5, 2-2 Pac-10) used strong offensive rebounding and a decided, 17-1 advantage at the free throw line to pull away at the end.
Jordan Hill scored 15 points and had 11 rebounds for Arizona, which won its 27th straight at home over the Beavers, a streak that began in 1982-83.
Lathen Wallace led the Beavers (6-8, 1-3) with a season-high 17 points.
Oregon State will return to action on Thursday, Jan. 15, when the Beavers host Washington State at 6:00 p.m.
