No. 24 Men's Golf Earns Another Top-Five Finish

STANFORD, Calif. - - John Lepak and Anthony Arvidson tied for sixth and helped the No. 24 Oregon State men's golf team to a fifth-place finish on Sunday at the U.S. Intercollegiate on the par 71 Stanford Golf Course. The U.S. Intercollegiate was the Beavers' final tune-up before they head to the NCAA West Regional in Fresno, Calif., May 17-20.
Lepak, ranked 42nd in the nation, turned in his sixth top-10 performance of the season and 12th of his career as he shot 2-over-par 215, including a final-round 74 on Sunday.
Arvidson wrapped up the weekend with a 1-over 72 to put him in a tie for sixth as well at 215. Arvidson, who tallied a 68 in the first round, recorded his fourth top-10 finish of the year, including two wins.
The Beavers struggled to get going in the final round, as they shot a 296 for the second day in a row to put them one stroke behind Oregon at 25-over-par 879, but earned their sixth top-five finish of the year.
Senior Dustin Wayne added some excitement to his round of 73 with his first career ace. Wayne took a six-iron on the 185-yard par-three 17th hole, and knocked it in. He finished the tournament tied for 50th at 226.
Pac-10 runner-up Bryan Geiberger shot 250.
California pulled off a one-stroke victory over Pepperdine by shooting a 280 in the final round to come home in 855. The University of Portland took third.
California's Han Lee earned medalist honors with a 6-under 207, including a 67 on Sunday to edge out Pepperdine's Michael Beard by two shots.
