Lon Stiner was the head football coach at Oregon State from 1933-42. His teams compiled an impressive overall record of 74-49-17, which included the 1942 victory over Duke in the only Rose Bowl not played in Pasadena - the game was moved to Durham, N.C. due to World War II precautions.
He coached the 1933 Ironmen, a team known for the now illegal Pyramid kick blocking play.
