Gene Tanselli

As a player at OSU, Gene Tanselli lettered three years (1949-51). He started his coaching career in 1962 as an assistant and took over coaching duties in 1967. He led the Beavers to a third-place finish in the Pac-8 Conference in his first year as head coach. In 1951, he earned selections on the NCAA Western Regional Team and was selected a first team All-Northern Division Shortstop. He was on the 1951 team that won 18 straight games, a school record.
