"The Great Pumpkin" spent 10 years as the head football coach and led the Beavers to four second-place finishes in the Pac-8. His 1967 "Giant Killers" beat No. 1 USC and the No. 2 ranked teams from Purdue and UCLA.
He was named Oregon's Man of the Year in 1967 inducted, was inducted into the State of Oregon Sports Hall of Fame in 1986, the Idaho Hall of Fame in 1988, and the NACDA Hall of Fame in 1990. He also served as Oregon State's athletic director from 1976-1985.
Andros received Oregon State's Martin Chaves Lifetime Achievement Award in 2003.
