Jacoby Ellsbury had a monster season for the Beavers in 2005, a year in which the program won the Pac-10 Conference crown and advanced to Omaha for the first time since 1952. Ellsbury batted .406 as a junior, hitting six home runs with 48 RBI and stealing 26 bases. He was named a First-Team All-American that season and was a first-round MLB Draft selection by the Boston Red Sox. Ellsbury was selected as the Pac-10’s Co-MVP in 2005 and was a first-team selection in 2004. He completed his three-year Oregon State career with a .365 batting average, 37 doubles, eight triples, 16 home runs, 101 RBI and 60 stolen bases.
