Marshall Hjelte was Oregon State’s second All-American when he earned the recognition in 1922.
A 6-foot-6 center, Hjelte was selected to the All-Pacific Coast Conference First Team in 1922 and the All-Pacific Coast Conference Second Team and All-Northern Division Second Team in 1923.
Hjelte, and Hall of Famer Slats Gill, led Oregon State College to a 21-2 overall record and 10-2 mark in the Pacific Coast Conference in 1922.
