Infielder Jay Dean became the first Beaver to be named an All-American in two different seasons. He was a First-Team selection by the ABCA in 1954 after batting .456 with 26 RBI in North Division play. He was also named a First-Team selection by the ABCA a year later after batting .465 with one home run and 28 RBI. Dean was an All-Northern Division selection in both 1953 and 1954. He holds the program’s career batting record with a .379 mark.
